2004 - Spring (U-12)

U-12 Girls Challenge Division Black Champions - Dulles National Soccer Tournament 2004

The Spirit won all three preliminary round games (against CULP Comets, FCSC Sharks and LOUD Shooting Stars), scoring 10 goals and only giving up one goal.  After 60 minutes of play in the championship game against SWYA Magic, the score was deadlocked 0-0.  After two (mandatory) 10-minute overtimes, the score was deadlocked once again, this time at 1-1.  Finally, Spirit took the championship trophy after penalty kicks.

Finalists - The Virginian Tournament U11 Girls Premier Silver West Division!

The Spirit claimed a 3-1 record in preliminary rounds of the 29th annual Virginian Tournament. Over Saturday and Sunday at Quantico Marine Base, Spirit secured wins over Great Falls Majestic and Columbia United Classic, falling only once in the preliminary rounds to York United Red Raiders. The climax of a dramatic weekend came during the Sunday evening Semifinal against SWYA Arsenal. After 60 minutes of regulation and two ten-minute overtimes, the teams remained deadlocked, 0-0, thus forcing a penalty kick shootout. Thanks to the sure hands of goalkeeper Tori and hard-driven goals by TT, Kristen and Taylor N., Spirit secured a berth in the Monday championship game.   Returning to former home field Occoquan Park on Memorial Day, Spirit once again faced York United Red Raiders, this time for the division trophy. The SYC Spirit won the U-11 Girls Challenge Division of the 2003 Battlefield Classic Tournament.

The SYC Spirit U-11 Girls finished the 2003 FPYC Labor Day tournament (Patriot Cup) as Runners-up in the Challenge Division.
